[El Paso County, Colo. – November 19, 2024] The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office is partnering with Toys for Tots, a 76-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, to spread joy to children in our community this holiday season.
The program provides year-round comfort and hope to children in need across the country through the gift of a new toy or book. The impact of these toys and books offers children in need recognition, confidence, and a positive memory for a lifetime.
Donation boxes will be at all four El Paso County DMV locations (Citizens Service Center, Union Town Center, Powers and Fort Carson) as well as in our Recording Department. We encourage citizens to donate unwrapped toys during business hours, which will then be distributed to children in need for Christmas. The boxes will be at the locations, receiving donations, until Wednesday, December 18. Citizens can also donate online at toysfortots.org.
“I invite you to join us in spreading the season’s joy by donating a new, unwrapped toy for a child in our community,” said Clerk and Recorder Steve Schleiker. “Together, we can make a difference and ensure every child experiences the wonder of Christmas. Let’s unite as a community and fill those boxes with love, hope, and holiday spirit!”
Since 1947, Toys for Tots has evolved and grown exponentially delivering the hope and magic of Christmas to over 291 million children in need. Because the need isn’t just at Christmastime, the Toys for Tots Program also provides support year-round to families experiencing challenges and exceptional circumstances, thus fulfilling the hopes and dreams of millions of children in need beyond the holidays.
