“I Voted” sticker design winners announced for 2026 General Election

The six winners of the “I Voted” sticker design contest will be announced at the El Paso County Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday, September 29 at 9 a.m. Our office received dozens of different original designs from 1^st-12^th graders. We awarded two winners from three categories: Elementary School, Middle School and High School.

The winning sticker designs will be included in all election ballot packets sent to active, registered voters Monday, October 5. This contest allows our young residents to participate in the election process, even though they aren’t old enough to vote yet. We hope it inspires the younger generation and reminds active voters of the importance of the democratic process and to get out and vote.

“The creativity and civic spirit shown by these students is truly inspiring,” said El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Steve Schleiker. “Each of our six winners created more than a sticker; they created a powerful reminder that voting is both a right and responsibility, and that civic engagement can begin at any age. I’m proud to celebrate these talented young artists and grateful to every student who shared their imagination, enthusiasm, and voice with our community.”

All six winners and their families will attend the Board of County Commissioner meeting Tuesday, September 29, for a public presentation of their designs, where they will also receive a $100 gift card. Media are invited to attend the meeting.
