[El Paso County, Colo. – October 14, 2024] The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office announced the six winners of the “I Voted” sticker design contest. Our office received about 140 different original designs from 1st-12th graders. We awarded two winners from three categories: Elementary School, Middle School and High School.
The winning sticker designs will be included in all election ballot packets sent to active, registered voters Friday, October 11. This contest allows our young residents to participate in the election process, even though they aren’t old enough to vote yet. We hope it inspires the younger generation and reminds active voters of the importance of the democratic process and to get out and vote.
“It was a joy for me to see what “I Voted” meant to our winners and how they used their talent to translate it into their design,” said El Paso County Clerk & Recorder Steve Schleiker. “These meaningful and impactful pieces of art truly capture the essence of civic pride and the importance of voting. Their creativity and talent shine through, and I can’t wait to see their design proudly worn by voters across the entire county.”
All six winners and their families will attend the Board of County Commissioner meeting Tuesday, October 15, for a public presentation of their designs, where they will also receive a $100 gift card for their classrooms. The winners are also invited to a tour of the Elections Department to learn about the voting process.
