January 9, 2023 – The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office will have a delayed opening on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, due to an all-staff meeting. All four Clerk and Recorder office locations will open to the public at 12 noon.

During this delayed opening the Clerk’s Office is asking El Paso County residents to take advantage of the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle’s 35 online services, or a Colorado MVExpress self-service kiosk for vehicle registration renewals.

Residents are encouraged to go to mydmv.colorado.gov where you will find, in addition to driver’s license and motor vehicle renewals, many of the most popular services, such as:

  • Request a driver record
  • Pay a citation
  • Pay a reinstatement fee
  • Upload reinstatement documents
  • Schedule an appointment
  • Change license or vehicle address
  • Update emergency contacts
  • Check eligibility to renew by mail
  • Replace tabs

  • Reschedule a hearing
  • Request title status
  • Request duplicate title
  • Apply for emissions waiver
  • First-time registration
  • Renew registration
  • First-time disability placards
  • Manage placards
  • Registration fee estimator

Recording documents may be dropped off in the drop box outside the east entrance of the Main Office located at the Citizens Service Center. Customers will need to place their records in a sealed envelope, include payment if applicable and contact information. Another option is to mail your documents to: Recording Department, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
