March 16, 2022 – Continuing a process first introduced for the 2020 General Election, the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office again has implemented a ballot image audit and review tool for the 2021 Coordinated Election. This tool on the Clerk’s website allows the public to view, sort, filter, and download ballot images from both the 2020 and 2021 Elections, permitting an extra level of election transparency from the comfort and safety of their home.

“Our office prides itself on transparency, therefore, we have led the way in innovative solutions in providing election services via a virtual government for our constituents,” said Chuck Broerman, Clerk and Recorder. “This is one of several ongoing initiatives the Clerk’s office has offered to ensure confidence and trust of the election process and the confirmation of results for the past two elections. I strongly encourage those who have doubted the election results in El Paso County to utilize this tool and be your own citizen auditor and see firsthand elections conducted here are transparent, accurate and verifiable.”

Last week, the Clerk and Recorder’s Office released the results of an additional audit conducted by Clear Ballot of the 2021 Coordinated Election. ClearAudit is a respected post-election audit system that utilizes a digital process to verify elections results by recounting digital images and digitally tabulating another voting system’s ballots to provide a post-election audit.

ClearAudit’s independent comparison generated an analysis report which verified the results of the 2021 Coordinated Election. The final report substantiates the accuracy of elections conducted in El Paso County.
